Use the padded SuperFlex flap to stack or separate equipment, whilst ensuring protection for your gear. Works in conjunction with the SuperFlex Partitions.

The SuperFlex Flap is a padded flap that can attach to Velcro® and works in conjunction with the SuperFlex Partitions. See the sliders below for more details.

The SuperFlex Flap is designed to fit in the 225, 335, 445, 555, 550, 107, 207, 307 and 307L bags, the same bags that are designed to fit the SuperFlex Partitions.

Dimensions

Dimensions

The size of the 'Superflex Flap’ is 15cm (5⅞") in length and 95mm (3¾") in width.

These dimensions do not include the size of the Velcro® strip which would add about 30mm to the width measurement above.

The 15cm (5⅞") length is the same as the 15cm front-to-back measurement inside a 225, 335, 445, 555, 550, 107, 207, 307 and 307L bag or any other SuperFlex Partition.

The SuperFlex Flap is too big to fit in bags such as the Hadley Pro or Hadley Small, however a lot of people use it in these bags anyway (both the bags and the Flap are flexible so it can sometimes be made to work).

Uses

Uses

Some people use a SuperFlex Flap (or even several of them together) to create compartments within their bag or to stop items of photography gear from bumping each other. The SuperFlex Partitions have one side that has fuzzy Velcro® stitched low down, this is for a SuperFlex Flap to attach to. This set up allows for gear to be stored below and some gear above the SuperFlex Flap (effectively using it for stacking).

The Flap can also be used to create ‘lids’ to SuperFlex Partitions – although this only works if the Velcro strips on the inside of the bag are at the correct height compared to the SuperFlex Partitions to make this work (this depends on the combination of bag and partition).

Occasionally people use the Flap to stack gear inside a Hadley bag however most of the time they are a bit big for this, but they do work well in a few niche situations.

SuperFlex diagram

All the sizes listed should fit any 550, 5-series (225, 335, 445555) or 7-series 107, 207, 307, 307L) bag. The exception being some of the taller ones won't fit in the smaller (less tall) sized bags like the 225.

You should choose which Partition you want based on the lens/gear that you intend to put in it. For example with a lens that is 10cm wide and 18cm long:

  • Would be a perfect fit in a '10-18' size
  • Could be squeezed into a '9-18' if you wanted (it would just push the sides out slightly and create a tighter fit).
  • An '8-18' would probably be too tight.
  • An '10-15' would be too short - the lens would peak over the top.
  • A '10-21' would be an option if you didn't want the lens to reach all the way to the top but certainly wouldn't fit the shorter (less tall) bags such as a 225.

To help you decode the size names - on a '10-18' size:

  • '10' refers to the width - 10cm wide. It also refers to the 'square' side of the Superflex Partition - 10cm x 10cm (when viewed from above). A 10cm x 10cm area would be idea for a lens with diameter or 10cm or less in this example.
  • 18 refers to the height - 18cm.
  • The depth (front-to-back) is always 15cm regardless of the size name.

Also remember to use the diagram above to understand the sizes. The grey images are a 'top-down' view. The white images are the view along the shortest side - so you can understand the height. Clicking the different size names at the top will also show you a diagram of that particular size about a 3rd of the way down the page.

P.S. 1cm = 10mm = approximately 0.39 inches.

Most of the sizes will fit in most of our bags - but they aren't designed for that. You might be best looking at the dividers sets specially designed for specific bags here.

No - the base for these dividers is the padded base of the bag itself. If you have lost your padded base you can buy a replacement here.

These have Velcro® at each end to attach to the inside of the bag - this attaches to the Velcro in the sides of the bag.

If you don't have Velcro inside your bag (and some of our very old bags don't) then on most old bags we can sew in a padded lining for you along with Velcro strips - we charge a fee for this and you'd need to send us the bag. To find out more please contact us.

If you don't have Velcro in the walls of your bag another option is a SystemFlex Divider Set (the type originally supplied with the bags). If you contact us at the link above we sell you one however we don't currently list them on our website (we don't like them as much as SuperFlexes!).

Yes! Take a look at our DF Dividers here. The '15-15' size mentioned on that page is the right size to reach from the front to the back of any any 550, 5-series (225, 335, 445555) or 7-series 107, 207, 307, 307L) bag - 15cm, just like the SuperFlexes are.

We tend to recommend that you put your lenses and Speedlights/Flashes in the SuperFlex Partitions. We then tend to recommend that you put your camera (with or without a lens attached) in the negative space left between the SuperFlex Partitions. We don't make sizes to fit the cameras themselves - although obviously small cameras such as rangefinders with pancake lenses will fit inside some of them.

Our official retailers are welcome to order them (some through us and others through distributors) but most avoid doing so as they are more niche than our big sellers - such as the camera bags and shoulder pads. Also there are a few retailers who do stock some sizes and not others.

You may find if you ask nicely that the retailer will order them for you with their next order from us - although this is likely to be slower than ordering from us directly.
